Peta is Australian, and so are her family and her friends. Eric is from the United States, and so are his family and friends. So, the question they faced in their wedding planning was: is there somewhere in between both countries that is not that hard to get to so that everyone can make it? Perhaps somewhere beautiful and luxurious with a warm climate, beautiful beaches and golf? Yes, there is such a place! It’s called Maui. Just a 6-hour flight from Los Angeles, and a 9-hour trip from Australia, Maui is the perfect spot for a tropical wedding in the middle. But where to get married? Peta and Eric chose the Olowalu Plantation House.

Sitting on a site that was once a sugar mill in the 1900’s, the Olowalu Plantation house is one of Maui’s most popular wedding destinations. Olowalu is a quaint little area (too small to be a town) located about 15 minutes south of the big hotels and resorts of Lahaina on Maui’s western coast. This little stretch of beach has long been considered sacred by ancient Hawaiians. When you walk through the house and are welcomed to the view, its no wonder. It is a special and spiritual place to be married.

Expertly planned and designed by our new friend Carolee Higashino of White Orchid Wedding, our couple’s Olowalu Plantation House wedding was incredible! There were so many details. Her gorgeous dress was handmade by Steph Audino in Australia. Just look at the ceremony and reception florals by Asa Ige of Asa Flowers! Cocktails were expertly crafted by Garnish Craft Cocktail Catering. Decor and rentals by Event Accents, and Hawaiian Style Event Rentals. All food was vegan and was made by Three’s Catering. Entertainment by DJ Del Sol and Barefoot Minded. Our good friends Colin and Nick of Blue Kite Cinema made their amazing film.
